Sweet’s Syndrome

One of the neutrophilic dermatoses, Sweet’s syndrome can be idiopathic, malignancy-associated, and drug-induced. It presents with tender erythematous skin lesions in the form of papules, nodules, and/or plaques.

The rash on the back of this patient’s hand is called neutrophilic dermatosis of the dorsal hand. Cause of neutrophilic dermatosis in this patient is an autoimmune phenomenon related to his undiagnosed myelodysplasia- the rash resolved after he underwent bone marrow transplant. This patient also has livedo reticularis of the leg and iododerma.
